A New Beginning
I have been ‘blogging’ for over 10 years now. I started with a site written entirely in HTML and hosted on the old Delphi service back in 1995. In 2000 I switched careers and became a Web Developer and wrote my own blogging tools in ColdFusion. In 2001 Wamajama was born. The word is meaningless…simply something I came up with because I couldn’t think of anything better.
Over the years Wamajama has been a family blog and a humor blog. The only constant is that it has been my development playground. With that in mind I decided to relaunch the site using the latest release of Wordpress (2.5 RC1). All the old posts have been deleted, but I backed them up first for posterity.
From now on all the family updates can be found at TheFamilyBlog.com and our family reviews will be posted to MyFamilyLovesIt.com. Wamajama will find new life as a career blog, but will also include humor and news commentary. Basically, it will be the same as thousands of other blogs out there which is fine with me. I will use it as my code base and my dev environment for testing new versions of Wordpress and new plugins and themes. I also plan to write some themes and plugins of my own.
